For me, a device-free zone of creativity at regular intervals is a must. A time where you can be more impulsive and uninhibited and make art for the pure enjoyment of the process.
As a former textile designer early in my career, I am naturally drawn to experimenting with tactile mediums to create 'effect'. With collage, you can achieve depth and texture by applying torn paper with a water-based glue. Printed colour magazine and newspaper images bring their own textures and qualities to the mix - ideal therefore to reuse & recycle paper you have around the house. The sources are abundant and the results... well, see what you think!
It's great for the soul to switch off and just make something with your hands. We know that. Whether you feel you're a creative person or not, it is immersive, satisfying and produces interesting and often magical results. In this way, I've enjoyed a great variety of art workshops with friends, and now I hope to be able to facilitate that for others by offering my own.
Classes/group sessions are for all ages. Ideally, a group workshop is from 3 to 8 people. I plan to run regular sessions in Chipping Campden which I'll publish on the workshops page. If you make up your own group, I can arrange a date and time to suit you.
